The Out
Cyd Finlea is a sort of slacker photo-journalist who's on such an extended trip out into interstellar space that she's lost track of where Earth is, and only sometimes gets paid for the photos she beams back in an odd employment model that only supports one-way communication.
While this invites obvious comparisons with The Ballad of Halo Jones (perhaps even a strong desire for it to be a stealth thrill), it's very much its own tale, despite some similarities of dressing and theme.
