Scarlet Traces

Ian Edginton and D'Israeli provide a multi-book sequel to H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds.

Edginton's "Wheel of Worlds" multiverse sees him reuse narrative motifs through his various series (sometimes explicitly), and so similar martians show up both in The Red Seas and (in a protagonist role) in Ampney Crucis.
